Matthew Homann
Seminar Speaker
The [non]billable hour (blog) LexThink! 618-407-3241
Matthew Homann is a lawyer, mediator, and entrepreneur who has built an international reputation as an innovative and passionate thinker about changing the practice of law – in ways that benefit both lawyers and their clients.
For the last four years, Matthew has been sharing his insights on his award-winning blog, the [non]billable hour. There, he focuses on how lawyers can revolutionize how they serve their clients and enjoy their lives by using innovative billing strategies, creative marketing techniques, cutting-edge ideas from other industries and professions, and proven customer-service principles.
Matthew graduated from Washington University Law School in St. Louis, where he still serves as an adjunct professor. He has spent most of his legal life as a lawyer in small firms. He spent five years as a solo practitioner with a true “general practice,” that included divorce, estate planning, real estate, collections, business formations, and criminal law. As a partner in a two-lawyer firm, he developed a unique business model that increased profitability, reduced time spent per matter, and did away with time sheets (and the billable hour) completely.
In 2005, Matthew left law practice and founded LexThink!®, an innovation consultancy and conference company that brings together big-thinkers from small business, law, technology, advertising, accounting, consulting and marketing to discuss future-changing ideas for professional service providers.
